Batting and Pitching Stats

The University of Tennessee Volunteers released their official 2018 baseball roster. The roster features a mix of returning players and talented newcomers who are expected to make an immediate impact on the field. The Volunteers are looking to build on a successful 2017 season, in which they finished with a 34-22 overall record and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

Head coach Tony Vitello enters his second season at the helm of the Volunteers. Vitello has a proven track record of success, leading the Missouri State Bears to three NCAA Tournament appearances in four seasons.

The Volunteers return several key players from last year's team, including All-SEC performers Zach Warren and Luc Lipcius. Warren, a senior infielder, batted .335 with five home runs and 45 RBIs in 2017. Lipcius, a sophomore outfielder, hit .310 with three home runs and 32 RBIs.

In addition to their returning players, the Volunteers also welcome a talented group of newcomers. The incoming class includes several highly touted recruits, including infielder Jake Rucker and pitcher Camden Sewell. Rucker, a freshman from Knoxville, was ranked as the No. 11 overall prospect in the 2018 MLB Draft. Sewell, a freshman from Lewisburg, was ranked as the No. 12 overall prospect in the 2018 MLB Draft.

The Volunteers are scheduled to open their 2018 season on February 16 against the Georgia Bulldogs. The Volunteers will play their home games at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
